Jon O'Connor was an entrepreneur, philanthropist, aviation enthusiast, and generally one of the best people whom you could ever hope to meet. Although he was very successful in business, Jon was more concerned with helping others than he was in making money.
After suffering a severe spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed from the neck down except for limited use of his right hand, Jon chose not to give up or to seek treatments just to heal himself. In 2002, Jon founded NextSteps to provide cutting-edge, innovative, and aggressive state-of-the-art treatments for people living with a spinal cord injuries or neurological disorders.
Jon was devoted to finding a cure for spinal cord injuries, and everyone he helped is just as devoted to him. He will be sorely missed. But his philanthropic work will continue to honor his memory.
